Kidney cancer recurrence: predictors and outcomes of repeat partial nephrectomy (literature review)

چکیده
In the last ten years, number of organ preservation surgeries for kidney cancer significantly increased. Per literature data, incidence recurrences after partial nephrectomy is between 2.9 and 11 %, mostly they are located in operated or contralateral kidney. Positive surgical margin, high stage histological subtype tumor, as well hereditary diseases, can serve predictors recurrences. renal recurrences, radical nephrectomy, ablation therapy repeat tumor resection possible treatment methods. Kidney resection, same primary tumors, leads to chronic disease cardiovascular complications. Different methods, despite their low invasiveness, not always technically possible. Therefore, patients with recurrence satisfactory functional status, be a method choice. The describes outcomes open general severe these complications decreased due use robot-assisted access recurrent tumors. Functional characteristics resections do decrease, especially nephrectomy. Oncological remain intermediate, further prospective multi-center trials needed confirmation.

Multiplex Partial Nephrectomy, Repeat Partial Nephrectomy, and Salvage Partial Nephrectomy Remain the Primary Treatment in Multifocal and Hereditary Kidney Cancer
The standard of care treatment for solitary renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tumors 4 cm or less is partial nephrectomy (PNx). However, multifocal kidney cancer presents unique challenges for treating physicians. Historically, total nephrectomy and hemodialysis with possible renal transplant later was the primary therapeutic strategy for these patients. Later, as nephron sparing surgical approaches i...
متن کاملA Case Report of Partial Nephrectomy of Mucinous Cystadenocarcinoma in Kidney and Its Literature Review.
Mucinous cystadenocarcinoma (MC) of the kidney is a rare epithelial tumor originating from the renal pelvic urothelium and few study cases have been reported. Because of the rarity of these tumors and their unknown histogenesis, its diagnosis is difficult until surgical exploration. We report here on a 55-year-old man referred to the urology department from the hepatology department because of ...
متن کاملRenal Pseudoaneurysm Mimicking Local Cancer Recurrence After Partial Nephrectomy
The development of an iatrogenic vascular lesion, such a renal pseudoaneurysm or arteriovenous fistula, is a rare complication of partial nephrectomy. These lesions should be considered in patients presenting with an enhancing mass in the resection bed shortly following partial nephrectomy. Early timing following surgery, large relative size, and the presence of recurrent hematuria suggest the ...
متن کاملComparison of perioperative outcomes of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy and open partial nephrectomy in patients with a solitary kidney.
PURPOSE To compare the perioperative outcomes of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) with open partial nephrectomy (OPN) in solitary kidneys. METHODS Records of 1542 consecutive RAPN performed in five high-volume centers (2007-2013) were reviewed for patients with solitary kidneys. RESULTS were compared with solitary OPN cases performed during the same period. Cases were divided into si...
متن کاملLaparoscopic partial nephrectomy of thyroid cancer metastasis: case report and review of the literature
BACKGROUND Follicular cell thyroid carcinoma is a quite aggressive form of thyroid cancer. About 10% of follicular thyroid carcinoma shows multiple metastases: lung and bone are the most common sites of metastasis. Renal involvement from thyroid primary cancer is very rare with incidence of 4.5%-5.9%. PURPOSE We report the first laparoscopic conservative treatment of renal metastasis from thy...
